Make the most of what we have

Afterlife is a mission-driven company who takes ultimate responsibility for previous-gen iPhones, to make sure they never wind up in a landfill.

TREND

iPhone innovation plateau

We’re tech enthusiasts who have long recognized that iPhone feature innovation has plateaued. Are we still getting the same bang for our buck?

Apple recently announced new AI features, and some of us think we’d be just fine without custom Animoji or a demigod in our pocket.

We’d rather avoid paying $1,000+ every few years for a device that feels too similar to the last, drives us further into consumerism, and cranks up our screen time.

VISION

Our preferred iPhone experience

Our iPhone expectations are simple—stay as functional as the day we bought it, last a full day on a single charge, and don't cost a fortune to fix.

So we built a subscription model that bundles the iPhones we love with benefits to meet our standards. All made possible by sustainable practices.

An Afterlife membership is a promise to keep a great condition iPhone in your hand, and out of the landfill.

RESPONSIBILITY

Repurpose corporate iPhones

Afterlife partners with DMD Systems Recovery, who collects lightly-used corporate iPhones and follows strict procedures for securely wiping data and properly recycling the components.

Afterlife inspects, prepares, and repairs iPhones that are ready for their next life from DMD's inventory.

At their end of life, we take the iPhones back to for proper recycling following some of the highest standards in the industry (R2 v3).

PROMISE

No games, no greenwashing, no gimmicks

Cell service providers feel like used car dealerships. They’ll reel you in with a door-busting deal on a new device, then look to make up the difference across a 24-36 month service contract, add-ons, and offering less trade-in value.

Apple is a publicly traded company beholden to selling new products. "New" is more expensive than we think—83% of carbon emissions are related to manufacturing a new device.

Afterlife promises to be honest, fair, and more sustainable than buying new. No games, no greenwashing, no gimmicks. Ever.
